National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials

The National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials (NCRTM) is sponsored by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and hosted by Utah State University. NCRTM serves the profession of Vocational Rehabilitation as a centralized resource for the development, collection, dissemination, and utilization of training materials; as a forum for advancing knowledge through applied research and open dialog; and as a marketplace for career and staff development.

The mission of the NCRTM is to advocate for the advancement of best practice in rehabilitation counseling through the development, collection, dissemination, and utilization of professional information, knowledge and skill. Initiatives that may be developed under this rubric include: (a) training material publication and archive; (b) technical assistance in training development; (c) distance-based continuing education; (d) professional recruitment/employment services; (e) professional networking and forums; (f) applied research and data warehousing; and (g) special events and projects.

Council on Rehabilitation Education

The Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) is a specialized accreditation organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a member of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA). CORE accredits graduate programs which provide academic preparation for a variety of professional rehabilitation counseling positions. CORE also recognizes undergraduate programs in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies through the CORE Registry. The Registry includes programs that meet curriculum and outcome standards and guidelines for undergraduate programs in rehabilitation.

 

Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification

Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification

The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities by:

(1) Promoting quality rehabilitation counseling services to individuals with disabilities through the certification of rehabilitation counselors.
(2) Providing leadership in advocating for the rehabilitation counseling profession.

CRCC sets the standard for quality rehabilitation counseling services through its internationally recognized certification program. CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) and CCRC (Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) designations indicate a higher level of specialized education and training, a thorough understanding of key competency standards based on current practices in the field, adherence to the Code of Professional Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors, and an ongoing commitment to continuing education.
